Some model manufacturers mislabel replicas of the '57 and '58 Studebaker Hawks, or, worse yet, combine elements of both, further confusing the issue. Cognizant of the fact that the only absolute in life is death, I nonetheless submit that a quick and easy way to distinguish between the two years - assuming that each is unaltered - is by the emblem in the grille.. The '57 has the emblem in the upper right corner of the grille, while the '58 places it in the lower center:
